Knowledge & Technology

Prolonged sitting, insufficient relief, and excessive pressure can cause pressure ulcers in people with limited mobility. Every person has a unique anatomy: the shape of the buttocks and the areas prone to pressure are highly individual.

Typical pressure-sensitive areas are the ischial tuberosities, trochanters and coccyx. Prolonged or excessive pressure can damage the skin, muscles and fatty tissue. Asymmetry when sitting, such as pelvic obliquity, often worsens the strain on these tissues.

To avoid this, the seat surface must be divided into zones corresponding to the different anatomical areas. Our zone arrangement, surface optimization, and pressure regulation allow us to specifically address the individual prevention needs.

Zone Arrangement

The arrangement of the air chambers is based on the anatomy of the buttocks and is divided into stabilization and risk zones. This enables targeted relief, enhanced stability, and optimal pressure distribution.

Surface Optimization

The air chamber system with its 11 cells enables optimal immersion and anatomical contouring, resulting in the largest possible contact area and ensuring the best possible
pressure distribution.

Pressure Regulation

The smart cushion enables automated, zone-specific relief of all 11 air chambers, as well as adaptive pelvic correction and targeted relief of individual problem areas.

Safety

We ensure maximum safety through automated, active pressure relief and optimal pressure distribution. This is made possible by eleven anatomically shaped air zones in combination with a unique software algorithm.

A cushion which forms to the user’s anatomy is crucial for the best possible stabilization and pressure relief. This means that sinking and adaptation to the buttocks should occur with as little resistance as possible, resulting in a maximum contact area over which body weight is distributed evenly.

Overall, the seat surface is divided into three functional areas: an inactive area for supporting the thighs and active areas with risk and stabilization functions. The risk and stabilization zones are based on anatomy and the respective prevention requirements. The stabilization zones offer targeted support, for example to correct pelvic obliquity, while the risk zones specifically counteract overload in pressure-sensitive areas.

The Game Changer

With the smart automatic relief cushion, LiVE One, we achieve unprecedented pressure distribution and pressure relief, combined with individualized support for a stable sitting position. This maximizes blood circulation in the tissue, providing effective protection against these dreaded wounds. To achieve the best prevention, we developed three unique product features:

Automatic Pressure Relief

Software based, dynamic pressure relief
and optimal pressure distribution using
anatomically shaped air zones.

LiVE-Monitoring

Maximum safety through real-time pressure
monitoring and immersion detection.

Targeted Positioning

Individualized seating position to optimize
seating stability, correct posture, and
provide targeted pressure relief in risk areas.

Maximum Usability

Usability is crucial for safety. Technology such as the control unit, control buttons, and magnetic charging interface are fully integrated into the cushion. It is battery-powered, operates completely silently, and is free of annoying tubes or cables. The control buttons on the left and right side of the cushion allow users to quickly and intuitively check the cushion‘s status and adjust the settings.

Full Control

The app allows you to view and individually adjust the LiVE pressure distribution in real time. In the expert setting, it is additionally possible to provide targeted support for the pelvic position and to relieve pressure in risk zones.

The pelvic position can be optimized through lateral and vertical pelvic correction. The “local relief” function allows targeted relief of vulnerable or previously damaged skin areas, such as the ischial tuberosities, trochanter, or coccyx.

Continuous and even pressure relief in all zones is maintained throughout, ensuring optimal protection during all everyday activities.

  • Real-time LiVE-monitoring
  • Pelvic correction
  • Local relief of risk zones

LiVE-Monitoring measures the pressure and sink depth in real-time

Targeted positioning allows postural corrections, such as pelvic tilt

Targeted position allows postural correction, such as vertical pelvic alignment

In 5 Steps to Your Relief Cushion

01 Qualification

During a call, we will assess the initial situation, the indication, and we will discuss the potential next steps.

02 Trial seating

A trial sitting will help us understand whether your sitting conditions can be improved as desired with the LiVE One pressure relief cushion.

03 Test phase

After a successful trial sitting, it is time to test the effect of the relief cushion in everyday life. For this we will schedule a test phase of about one week.

04 Application for reimbursement

Together with the medical aids retailer, the application for reimbursement is tailored to both the requirements of the health insurance and the user’s personal situation.

05 Delivery

Once cost coverage has been confirmed, the cushion will be manufactured in the required size and supplied to the user.
