In standby mode the cushion uses only minimal battery. If you do not turn the cushion of, you can also not forget to turn it back on. This way the cushion is always ready to support you and guarantee you sit safely!

The LEDs will turn off automatically when you plug in the cushion to charge. They function as a reminder to charge overnight. However, you can also manually deactivate the LEDs. To deactivate them shortly press both buttons at the same time. They will be turned off for 4h.

The cushion is designed and certified for use in an upright position, such as in an (electric) wheelchair, with or without handbike attachment.

Yes, the battery size of the RELiYOO cushions allows you to bring it as hand luggage onto an airplane.

RELiYOO cushions works reliably in different situations, such as in the car. If you are travelling in a vehicle made to be used while seated in your wheelchair you can use your RELiYOO cushion as usual.

However, it is important to read up on national regulations if you are planning on driving a vehicle. For example, in Switzerland the use of any cushion is not recommended for the driver, for risk of interference with safe operation of the vehicle.

When  you transfer off the cushion, the change in pressure will be detected by the sensors and the cushion will go into it’s energy optimized stand by mode. It will be ready for you to transfer back on to the cushion any time, and will automatically resume its function.

The device functions completely silently. However, under certain circumstances the cushion will send you audio messages. For example, is the remaining battery life is less than 12 hours or in case of an error.

Troubleshooting

It may seem like there is little air in your cushion. For the cushion to work well with your anatomy, you may sink deep into the pillow to receive optimal support. So first, let’s test whether the air pressure is too low.

To test whether air pressure is low place one hand flat on the cushion, and apply pressure to the area that seems empty. With the other hand press between the fingers on the flat hand to feel how much effective air is in the area. If there is 1-2 cm of air while under pressure everything is ok.

It is good to be cautious. In addition to checking your cushion, we recommend to make routine skin checks to assess your skin health.

Also good to know: if the cushion looses air, this will be detected by the sensors. In the case of any error the cushion will send you audio messages to tell you there is a defect.

It could be that your cushion is no longer connected to the app. To reconnect, first close the app. It is not enough to swipe away the app, you really need to quit it and open it new. After that the images should update again in real-time.

When you lean forward for a little while, for example during cathetering, the cushion starts to adjust to your new sitting position. This may mean it inflates the back air chambers. When you move back this might feel unusual. Howver, it is not a problem and the cushion will readjust to your anatomy again in the coming minutes.

To avoid this next time, you can pause the automatic adaptation of the pressure.

Yes, you can pause the automatic pressure update by briefly pressing the left button. For example, when you lean forward during catheterization. An audible confirmation “Pause activated” confirms your selection. The automatic duration of a pause is 5 minutes. You can change the duration of the pause in the app.

Ensure that the charging power supply is plugged into a power supply. Then, make sure that nothing is wedged between the charger and the charging socket on the cushion (e.g., the cover or dirt). It is important that the charging power supply and the charging socket are clean. When the charger is connected correctly you will hear an ascending tone sequence. After a short time, the cushion’s lighting will turn off. This is intentional so that the light does not disturb you at night.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The RELiYOO cushion is battery powered. It comes with a magnetic charger for easy connecting. The battery life is approximately three days at normal use. We recommend charging the cushion daily overnight.

This can easily happen in daily life for example if you are outside in the rain or have issues with incontinence. For these situations the RELiYOO cushion has a splash resistant cover under the textile comfort cover. Afterwards the cushion can be wiped clean and dry. We recommend not keeping the cushion under running water.

No, the cushion is not designed to be used when showering. It needs to be kept away from running water.

The removable textile cover can be machine washed at 60 °C.

Inside the textile cover you find a splashproof cover which cannot be removed. To clean this inner cover, use a clean moist cloth and wipe with water and soap. Avoid holding the cushion under running water and wring the cloth before wiping the cover, so that it is moist but not soaking wet. Alcohol-based surface disinfectants can be used for disinfection.

The warranty period for the textile cover of the LiVE One is 12 months. The warranty period for other components of the LiVE One is 24 months.

In addition, we can provide maintenance for your cushion up to 5 years after purchase against a service fee. For more details on this please reach out to us.

The cushion cushions are exclusively serviced by RELIYOO. A replacement cushion will be provided during the repair period.

If you have a technical problem with you cushion, reach out to your specialist dealer/medical supply store. They will organize a service for you.

App

The mobile app provides an intuitive way to change the settings of your cushion. It is optional to use the app. All settings can also be changed without the app by accessing the audio menu using the buttons on the device.

In the app you see a graphical representation of the pressure in your cushion. The warmer colors (yellow, orange, red) indicate higher pressure, and the colder colors (blues) lower pressure. The numbers you see are the pressure in mmHg (millimeters of mercury). Normal values are between 30-45 mmHg, depending on body weight, pelvic shape, and activity level.

Ordering Process

The cushion comes in seat widths from 36 to 50 cm, and seat depths of 38 to 50 cm (in 2 cm steps). More information about the size combinations, and the maximum user bodyweights per cushion size can be found in the instructions for use.

After receiving confirmation that the product will be reimbursed by your insurance or paid for by a foundation, we will custom make a cushion in your size. This generally takes 6 to 12 weeks (status Nov 2025).

When you receive your cushion, it must be placed into your wheelchair. Make sure the cushion is placed well-centered and is attached securely with the Velcro attachments. You turn the cushion on by short pressing either of the two buttons. You will hear an audio message “Device starts”. The cushion is now ready for use and will automatically adjust to your individual anatomy. More detailed instructions can be found in the instructions for use.

The insurance situation varies from country to country, and person to person. There is no standardized reimbursement via an entry in the medical aid registry, in Germany or Switzerland. Instead, an individual cost approval based on individual justification is needed.

Various customers have received confirmation that the costs will be covered by their insurance. We recommend getting into contact with your supplier of medical devices, or reach out to us, to receive guidance on requesting reimbursement.

A new mobility solution means a new sitting position, which should be assessed holistically by a seating expert, such as your occupational therapist or physio therapist. However, if the size of the seating interface is the same, your RELiYOO cushion can be integrated in your new solution. In this case it is important that the expert settings such as pelvic obliquity and tilt settings are set newly by your seating expert.
